| Q: |
Can't I just play the radio or

| A: |
Yes, But
As the
4/3/2001 you are required to pay APRA copyright
royalties, which range from several hundred
to several thousand dollars per year. So instead
of paying to promote the radio and your competitor's
ads, why not let on hold messages inform, entertain
and most importantly promote your business to
your customers

So who is APRA anyway?
Australasian Performing Rights Association
(APRA), is a non-profit organisation that collects
and distributes Australian and New Zealand music
copyright royalties. Whenever music is played
on television, radio, in restaurants or in businesses
i.e music on hold or on websites,a royalty fee
is chargeable by APRA under Australian Federal
Regulations.
APRA is nowproactively monitoring businesses
with any form of 'on hold music' who do not
comply with these regulations. By using royalty
free music, on-hold messages can potentially
save your business thousands of dollars each
year in APRA fees, whilst at the same time providing
you with an affordable way to promote your products
and services.
